Case Booked Against Dwaraka Hotel In Khairatabad For Serving Spoiled Food

KHAIRATABAD: A case has been filed against Dwaraka Hotel, one of the city’s oldest restaurants located at Lakdikapul, for serving spoiled carrot halwa to a woman in Hyderabad on Thursday, resulting in food poisoning.

The victim filed her complaint at Khairatabad police station on Thursday under sections 273 and 337 of the IPC, with Crime Number 221/2024.

The victim has been identified as Sravanthi Srikurmam, a social activist. Upon visiting the hotel, the victim was served spoiled carrot halwa in boxes costing around Rs. 70 , resulting in food poisoning.

Upon tasting it, the victim realized it was spoiled. When questioned, the hotel authority promptly replaced the carrot halwa boxes but failed to respond adequately and provided reckless answers, said Sravanthi Srikurmam.

The victim demanded stringent action against the hotel for serving stale food.
