Hyderabad police interstate drug racket

Secunderabad: South West Task force teams along with Gopalapuram Police, nabbed three interstate drug peddlers at Zee Hotel, opposite Secunderabad Railway Station. Further police have seized 6.96 kg of dry ganja with a total worth of Rs 1.8 lakhs from the accused on Saturday.

The arrested were identified as Elateriya Parichha, Budhadeb Nayak and Chandan Kumar Swalsingh all hailing from Odisha state.

With a tip-off, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Zone team, and Gopalapuram police swiftly moved in and apprehended the trio, and seized 6.960 kg of Ganja from their possession.
According to the police Chandan Kumar Swalsingh recently relocated to Hyderabad from Odisha in search of better livelihood.Facing financial difficulties, he hatched a plan to sell dry ganja in the city. He contacted acquaintances from his hometown in Odisha, Elateriya Parichha and Budhadeb Nayak, to transport the ganja to Secunderabad.

Subsequently on 4, July 2024, Elateriya and Budhadeb arrived in secunderabad with 6.96 kg of dry ganja.They met with Chandan at Zee Hotel, where they planned to sell the substance at a high price.Meanwhile the Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Zone team,and Gopalapuram police apprehended them and seized 6.960 kg of Ganja from their possession.

In this regard a case has been registered against accused persons under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances(NDPS) Act of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) of at Gopalapuram police station of Hyderabad commissionerate.
