Health Minister Raja Narasimha calls for govt health centers every 30 km in Telangana

Hyderabad: Medical and Health Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha emphasized the need for a government health center 30 kilometers away to ensure better healthcare accessibility.

During a review meeting with District Medical and Health Officers (DMHOs) from all districts on Thursday, June 27, the Minister stressed the importance of improving geographical connectivity between districts, areas, and Primary Health Centers (PHCs).

Addressing the meeting, Minister Raja Narasimha instructed DMHOs to enforce stringent actions, including revoking licenses of private hospitals that fail to comply with government regulations. He urged DMHOs to compile comprehensive information for the next meeting, reiterating the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services for the underprivileged.

The Minister provided directives on coordinating governmental medical services and highlighted the crucial role of DMHOs in their delivery. He mandated thorough inspections of private hospitals and emphasized the importance of maintaining attendance among government doctors. Implementing the Clinical Establishment Act at the district level and ensuring adequate staffing in government hospitals were also prioritized.

Infrastructure development and sanitation improvements were underscored as essential steps, alongside preventive measures to curb seasonal diseases. The Minister stressed the importance of nutritious diets for patients and punctuality among doctors to elevate medical standards. Continuous monitoring of service delivery by DMHOs is needed.

Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha emphasized expanding service offerings in government hospitals to instill public confidence and efforts were also directed toward enhancing services in health centers.

Karnan, Director of State Medical Health Department Ravinder Naik, Telangana Vaidya Vidhan Parishad Commissioner Ajay Kumar, Director Medical Education Vani, senior officials from State Medical Health and Family Welfare Departments, NHM officials, Deputy DMHOs from various districts, and program officers.
