Police exposes illegal pub activities at ‘After 9 Pub’

HYDERABAD: The Commissioners Task Force and Banjara Hills local police raided “AFTER 9 PUB” on the night of May 4th and 5th, 2024. The inspection uncovered unethical illegal practices by the pub management, involving the hiring of women to attract male customers. Which resulting in inappropriate behavior on the premises.

Additionally, the club was found to be playing music at volumes exceeding legal limits, breaching noise regulations. During the raid, multiple individuals were apprehended, including two managers, one cashier, a DJ operator, five bouncers, 131 male customers, and 32 women.

This was done to address the exploitation of women and violations of laws regarding public decency and noise levels. This incident at “AFTER 9 PUB” is not an isolated case.

A similar raid was conducted by the Commissioner’s Task Force (North zone) at Urvasi Bar and Restaurant in Begumpet. Where the bar management was also found engaging in inappropriate conduct with clients using women. Legal actions were taken to close down the establishment. These raids are part of broader efforts to ensure that pubs and bars comply with the law.

The police have warned all such establishments to refrain from promoting or participating in any illicit or indecent activities. Authorities have emphasized their commitment to closely monitoring nightlife venues and taking strict action against those violating regulations. The operations, including the recent raid at “AFTER 9 PUB,” were overseen by Rashmi Perumal IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force.
