Hyderabad: No-fly zone in Dundigal ahead of PM Modi visit

Dundigal/Hyderabad: In view of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi’s visit to Dundigal on Tuesday, Cyberabad police commissioner Avinash Mohanty declared the area as a no-flying zone. It is to be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Hyderabad and addressing public meetings on April 30 in support of Zaheerabad and Medak constituency candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.

In an official statement Avinash Mohanty, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad ordered that no flying activities of Remotely Controlled Drones or Para-Gliders or Remotely Controlled Micro-Light Aircrafts, would be allowed over the area of Dundigal Police Station of Cyberabad Police Commissionerate in view of visit of Prime Minister of India.

The order was prompted from the memorandum released from the Ministry of Home Affairs, ISI Division/VIP Security, Government of India in 2019. Memorandum was released in respect to precautionary measures to be taken at the time of VIP visits to the state.

Memorandum cautioned about the attacks organised by Terrorist/Antisocial through Paragliders, Remote Controlled Drones, Remote Controlled Micro Light Aircraft which may endanger and breach of peace to public tranquillity. These days there is also an increasing trend by event organisers and others to use remote controlled drones for getting aerial views for live telecasts and photography of various events.

Avinash Mohanty, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad prohibited flying activities of Remotely Controlled Drones or Para-Gliders or Remotely Controlled Micro-Light Aircrafts and such aerial platforms over the area bounded by a circle of (5) Km radius from the State Secretariat Complex in state capitals and (2) Km around strategic Vital Installations.

Violators shall be punishable

Avinash Mohanty warned any person found violating the order shall be punishable under relevant sections of law such as such as Sec. 121(Waging, or attempting to wage war, or abetting waging of war, against the Government of India.), 121(a)(Imprisonment for life), 287(negligent conduct with respect to machinery), 336(Act endangering life or personal safety of others), 337(Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 338(Causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of other) and other relevant sections of Indian Penal Code(IPC).
