Mirchowk police arrest daily wage laborer for property offense, seize Rs. 14.5 Lakh

MIRCHOWK: Mirchowk police station apprehended 23-year-old daily wage laborer Punpun Doley for committing a property offense and seized Rs. 14,50,000 and an iron bar measuring 2.5 feet from his possession.

The offender, identified as Punpun Doley, a 23-year-old daily wage laborer working at Zam Zam Fasteners in Noorkhan Bazar, Hyderabad.

According to the police, on February 7, 2024, during the absence of the complainant, Mohd Ahmed Hussain, a businessman, Doley took advantage of the situation. He used an iron bar to break the lock, then went from the penthouse to the ground floor, lifted the shutter, and entered the office room of Ahmed Hussain.

He forcefully opened the top drawer of the main counter table, taking Rs. 14,50,000 and putting it in his backpack before escaping through the broken small exit gate

This incident occurred while 31-year-old Mohd Ahmed Hussain was finishing up at his shop on the ground floor of the same building. After closing for the day, Hussain went home, unaware of the impending theft.

The next day, when Hussain returned to open his shop, he found a significant amount missing from the cash counter. Suspecting an inside job, with Punpun being the prime suspect due to his access and knowledge of the premises, Hussain quickly filed a complaint.

On February 8, 2024, based on reliable information, Mirchowk Police arrested Punpun Doley in Chiragpally, Zaheerabad District, and successfully recovered the stolen Rs. 14,50,000.

Punpun Doley has been working at Zam Zam Fasteners in Noorkhan Bazar, Hyderabad, for the past six months while secretly living in the shop’s penthouse.
He meticulously observed Hussain’s daily routine and office layout and planned the theft. After the theft, Doley fled to his hometown, thinking he could evade suspicion, and had planned to spend the stolen money on luxury items.

The accused was arrested by N. Dilip Kumar, under the supervision of P. Sai Chaitanya, Shaik Jahangir, Venkateshwar Rao, and R. Ravinder, at Mirchowk Police Station.

P. Sai Chaitanya, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Zone Hyderabad, commended R. Ravinder, Inspector of Police, Mirchowk, and Detective Inspector of Police, along with their dedicated crime staff, for their exemplary efforts in apprehending the accused and recovering the stolen property intact.

Hyderabad cyber crime police books case over fake Rahul Gandhi speech post

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Cyber crime police booked a case against a miscreant who allegedly modified the speech of leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s first speech in the parliament on Tuesday.

According to the complaint, he came across a post while scrolling through social media where a Twitter account named Mr Sinha fabricated the words of Rahul Gandhi and post in X() formerly twitter). According to that fabricated post Rahul Gandhi said “those who are Hindus, are violent”.

The complainant stated that Rahul Gandhi never gave wrong statements against the Hindus of this Nation but this BJP social media intentionally provocating Hindus for the sake of their political gain. This post is being circulated in Twitter, creating misappropriation in the social media and violating law and order and peace.

Further the complainant requested the police to inquire into the matter and to stop circulating the same by directing the concerned authorities to block those accounts, which were used for circulation of fake news.Further he requested to find out the root cause of this conspiracy and charge the culprits for their illegal acts committed by conspiring together by spreading the false news by registering a case and enquire into the matter at the earliest in the interest of Justice.

Subsequently, Hyderabad cyber crime police booked a case under sections, 352(Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 353 (2)(publishes or circulates any statement or report containing false information), 353(1)(c) (Statements conducing to public mischief with intent to incite, ) and 336(4)(Whoever commits forgery) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)

Chairman of TPCC Media and Communications sharing the FIR copy on X(twitter) said, “y team has registered an FIR against MrSinha working on the BJP payroll. He circulated fake news misquoting our leader RahulGandhi after his speech in the Loksabha and appealed to people to share it widely to tarnish his image. Telangana Police will visit him soon!”

In response, MrSinha who termed himself a political commentator said, “So Congress has filled an FIR against me for this poster of Rahul… PM Modi to each and every RW said the same but it seems unki mere se jyada fatt rahi hai….. Acha hai They’ve got 2-3 states & using police for any drama”.

Telangana government orders the release of 213 Cherlapalli jail prisoners

Hyderabad : The Telangana government has issued a Government Order sanctioning the special remission of 213 prisoners on Tuesday. The Home Department – Prisons has released the order.

In an order dated July 2, 2024, it is said that “The Government has taken a policy decision to grant special remission to life and non-life convicted prisoners who have been convicted for offenses against laws relating to matters to which the executive power of the state extends.”

Further, it also mentioned that all the eligible candidates were scrutinized by a scrutiny committee under the chairmanship of the Principal Secretary to Government, and further recommended the list of candidates to the government. “The committee after detailed examination of each prisoner’s case has recommended the premature release of a total 231 cases.”

However, of the 231 cases, some of the prisoners were either expired or have already been released, at least 18 such cases have fallen under the above mentioned category. As a result, 213 prisoners are being released now.

It is pertinent to note that the remission is being exercised under the powers conferred under Article 161 of the constitution of India read with section 433 A of code of Criminal procedure, 1973. Further Governor the state has also approved the remission of the 213 prisoners, following which they are going to be released.

Special conditions

The prisoners would be released on certain conditions. “All premature releases under this GO shall be subject to execution of a personal bond or Rs.50,000, keep peace and be of good behavior till the period of completion of sentence and to appear and receive sentence, if required for not maintaining good conduct and behavior. The prisoners after release shall appear before the district probation officer and police station concerned once in three months till the completion of an unexpired portion of sentence.”

Telangana CM proposes school for police officers' children in Greyhounds campus

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy addressed police officers of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda on July 2 (Tuesday) . He held an interactive session at the TGC & CC Auditorium in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, emphasizing the need for dedicated public service and addressing critical law enforcement issues.

CM Reddy praised the sacrifices made by police officers who neglect their families to serve the public. He encouraged officers to balance family time with their professional responsibilities. Sharing his personal background, he mentioned his elder brother’s influence, who joined as a police constable.

Plans for a new police school in Greyhounds campus

CM Reddy announced the government’s plan to establish a school on 50 acres within the Greyhounds campus. The school, modeled after Sainik Schools, will cater to children of Home Guards and senior police officers, ensuring equal opportunities and facilities. The CM also noted the demand for guidance from other states and the central government regarding Telangana’s specialized police units like Greyhounds, SIB, and Octopus.

During his address, the CM pointed out that major crimes now involve cyber frauds and drug trafficking, particularly affecting children from affluent families. He stressed the need to make Telangana a drug-free state and strengthen checkpoints to prevent drug entry, particularly from the Andhra-Odisha border. The CM also emphasized rewarding hard work and sincerity, citing the example of Sri Sandeep Shandilya, IPS (Rtd.), who received an extension for his commitment to anti-drug measures.

Revanth Reddy warned against corruption and favoritism in postings, stating that honesty, integrity, and hard work are expected from police officers. He mentioned that the ACB and V&E would monitor and take action against corrupt officers.

CM Reddy urged police officers to focus on criminals and offenders rather than political activities. He instructed the DGP to minimize security for himself and other politicians to remain accessible to the public. The CM linked the image of Telangana to that of Hyderabad and stressed the importance of improving the police force’s image to positively impact perceptions of the state. He called for thorough knowledge of new laws effective from July 1 to achieve better convictions.

The CM concluded by highlighting the vital role of the police in society-building and urged officers to meet public expectations. He assured them that anyone facing problems could approach him for guidance. High-ranking officials, including DGP Ravi Gupta and various commissioners, participated in the session. The DGP thanked the CM for his support, and other officials expressed their commitment to tackling challenges and prioritizing crime prevention and detection.

In total, nearly 750 police personnel from various ranks of the Tri Commissionerates attended the session, reaffirming their dedication to serving the public with integrity and diligence.
