LB Nagar: Cracking a whip against the miscreants who are harassing women in Rachakonda commissionerate limits, Rachakonda SHE teams stepped up the enforcement against the miscreants. In its latest crackdown against the miscreants, Rachakodna police in the last 15 days arrested 111 miscreants including 52 minors.

Revealing the data of complaints received through various means, Rachakonda police stated from June 1 to June 15 they have received 148 complaints from the women victims. Rachakodna police received the highest number of complaints – 95- directly followed by 34 complaints through social media and 26 through phone calls.

Moreover each of the complaints has been addressed and according to the severity accused are called for counseling and in others- cases have been booked. In Nine complaints criminal cases have been booked and in 57 complaints, petty cases were booked and further investigation is underway.

Revealing some of the important cases in which SHE teams ensured a FIR was registered Rachakonda police said, “ A man arrested for impersonating as postman and misbehaving with a woman. Going further into details, The accused trespassed into the house of the victim from Moulali under the pretext of delivering a post in her house. Although the woman clearly informed him that the post was not for her. The accused trespassed into the house and misbehaved with her and tried to force himself on her. However she escaped.

This is not the first time the accused misbehaved with the victim. In the past too, he had come to her house and tried to enter the house saying that he was a courier. Following this, the woman contacted SHE team Malkajgiri who took the accused into custody and handed over to Malkajgiri police.

In another case an unidentified man sent threatening messages to a girl residing in Ibrahimpatnam through Instagram, pressuring her to fall in love with him. When she refused, he threatened to morph her photos and post them online, as well as send them to her family members and relatives. Distressed by the harassment, she reported the matter to the she team, leading to a criminal case being registered at the Ibrahimpatnam police station.

Acting on the information that eve-teasing was being done at the Bhuvanagiri bus stand, SHE team reached the spot and arrested the two eve-teasers who are harassing college students and registered a case against them at Bhongir town police station and arrested them.
