MCEME Secunderabad confers B.Tech degrees to TES-41 course officers

MCEME Secunderabad TES-41 B.Tech

Hyderabad: The 105th Convocation Ceremony occurred at the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) in Secunderabad on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

Dr. Ramesh Kancharla, CEO of Rainbow Children’s Hospitals, presided over the ceremony, where 22 officers from the Technical Entry Scheme, course number 41 (TES-41), including three officers from the Royal Bhutan Army and two from the Sri Lanka Army, were awarded the prestigious B.Tech Degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

The event began with an inspiring address by Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, VSM, Commandant of MCEME, and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME. He congratulated the young officers on their significant achievements and encouraged them to embrace technology to enhance the Indian Army’s capability development and modernization efforts further. Lieutenant General Varshney urged them to integrate advanced technical innovations with strategic military applications.

The Technical Entry Scheme aims to recruit highly skilled technical officers into the Indian Army. These officers must possess physical agility, mental robustness, and expertise in handling the complexities of modern defense technology to contribute effectively to national security.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Ramesh Kancharla, CEO of Rainbow Children’s Hospitals, praised the exceptional training standards at MCEME and expressed confidence in the officers’ preparedness to excel in contemporary warfare. He emphasized the crucial role of their rigorous training in equipping them with the necessary skills to tackle modern defense challenges. He highlighted that these young officers, equipped with advanced knowledge and technical proficiency, are poised to contribute substantially to national security.

Lt. Thorat Sandesh Sanjay was awarded the GOC-in-C ARTRAC Trophy and book prize for the best all-around student officer and the DGEME Gold Medal for achieving first place in the overall order of merit.

The Convocation Ceremony concluded with a project display by the young officers in various niche engineering domains. Each project showcased innovative solutions aimed at addressing the Indian Army’s existing challenges.
