During a recent meeting, residents expressed their concerns and put forth several requests for consideration by municipal authorities.

Key points included:

Emphasising phased excavation and proper curing before road laying to minimise disruptions and ensure the structural integrity of the infrastructure.

Urging immediate restoration of any existing drainage or drinking water pipelines damaged during excavation to prevent inconvenience to residents.

Demanding the presence of a departmental supervisor or designated individual from the contractor to address damages promptly, with no financial burden on residents.

Holding the contractor accountable for timely completion of the project, with a commitment to finish within two months, considering the upcoming General Elections and rainy season.

Ensuring proper traffic management and diversion with clear signboards to mitigate inconvenience to commuters.

Mandating the restoration of roads post-construction, including debris clearance and necessary patch works.

Requested advance notification from the contractor to allow residents to make alternative arrangements during excavation works.
