Hyderabad's famous carnatic music festival returns for 9th Edition at Shilparamam from Jan 24-28

Hyderabad:The 9th edition of the Hyderabad Tyagaraja Aradhana Music Festival (HTAMF) is set to enchant music enthusiasts in Hyderabad from January 24 to January 28 at Shilparamam, Madhapur. Organized by the Sanskriti Foundation, this Carnatic music extravaganza will feature a grand lineup of accomplished musicians over five days.

The festival, known for its scale and cultural significance, will include evening concerts throughout the event. The highlight, Pancharatna Seva, is scheduled for Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 9 AM in the Ethnic Hall at Shilparamam. Notably, this event will be a hybrid one, with artists present at the venue and hundreds more participating online from across the globe.

As part of the festivities, Kalaratna Modumudi Sudhakar, a renowned Carnatic vocalist, top-ranking artist, composer, will be felicitated by the Sanskriti Foundation. The Hyderabad Tyagaraja Aradhana Music Festival aims to commemorate saint Tyagaraja, celebrating his musical contributions and bringing his timeless compositions to the current generation.

Initiated in 2016 by the Sanskriti Foundation, a Hyderabad-based non-profit organization with a 15-year legacy, HTAMF has become a platform where connoisseurs of Carnatic music can relish performances by promising artists. The festival attracts attendees from diverse cultural backgrounds, not only from the twin cities but also from all over India and globally.

HTAMF is a testament to Hyderabad’s historical significance and cultural diversity. The festival lineup includes various events, starting with an inauguration and hosting melodious concerts every evening from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The fourth day features student-teacher community concerts, providing a platform for promising talents.

The Pancharatna Seva, the pinnacle of the festival, unfolds on Sunday morning with two segments. The first segment involves Guru Sanmanam, where Sanskriti Foundation recognizes the dedication of a renowned musician to the field of Carnatic music. The second segment is the Pancharatna Seva, featuring the five ghana ragam gems of Tyagaraja, attended by more than 500 artists from the twin cities, participating in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
