Food Safety Officials Found Violations In Upscale Jubilee Hills Areas

Naturals Ice Cream, DownTown and Makau outlets in Jubilee hills violated food safety norms

Jubilee Hills: The FSSAI Task Force Team, constituted by the Commissioner of Food Safety, has conducted inspections on three restaurants including an Ice Cream outlet in Jubilee Hills and found violating several FSSAI safety measures.

The places in which the raids were conducted are -36 Downtown Brew Pub, Jubilee Hills, Makau Kitchen and Bar, Jubilee Hills and Naturals Ice Cream, Jubilee Hills, these three outlets were allegedly found violating several food safety norms, including the usage of expired products

The official note from Food Safety authorities, the 36 Downtown Brew Pub was found violating norms and the note said, “Expired food articles such as Sneha Chicken, Done’s Button Mushroom, Hoisin Sauce and Knorr Chicken Saucing Powder worth Rs.4,000 were found and discarded. Semi-Prepared food articles were stored inside the refrigerator without proper labelling and proper covering. Dustbins found open without lids and medical fitness certificates for food handlers not found with the FBO”, found 36 Downtown Brew Pub.

Meanwhile in the Makau Kitchen & Bar at Jubilee Hills, “Expired Food articles such as Sneha Chicken, BullDog veg and fruit sauce, Mala’s Orange Marmalade, Tiparos Fish sauce, Kewpie Mayonnaise, Misbranded cashew packets and fungus infected cashew worth Rs.4,970/- were found inside store room and made them discarded on the spot. Veg and non-Veg food articles were stored together in a single fridge and without proper labelling and lids on them. Live Cockroaches found in store area and broken tiles observed near roti making Bhatti area,” were found according to the officials.

Meanwhile, the Naturals Ice-cream outlet was also found using products without proper labels. “Ice-cream stored in steel containers inside refrigerator were found without proper labelling. Ice-cream Cones stored inside steel containers without proper labelling. Medical fitness certificate of food handlers not available. FSSAI License not displayed inside the premises at the time of inspection,” found at Naturals Icecream.
