Election Concluded Peacefully In Hyderabad

Hyderabad: District Election Officer(DEO) Ronald Rose informed that polling in the Hyderabad district comprising two parliamentary constituencies- Secunderabad and Hyderabad and Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly bye-elections concluded peacefully on Monday.

Polling started at 7am on Monday, as per the scheduled time in the district. Although some technical issues were faced during the mock polling, they were rectified with the professionals in place, informed DEO.

District Election Officer(DEO) Ronald Rose inspected the various polling locations in the city and enquired about the polling process. Further instructed the polling staff to conduct the election seamlessly. DEO monitored the election process from a control room at GHMC office through web casting. Further he alerted the polling staff about issues to the polling booth staff. DEO reiterated the elections were concluded peacefully in the District.

Hyderabad records poor voting percent once again

According to the official note provided by the DEO, overall in the district there are 3,986 polling centres with 45.91 lakh voters. So far as per the latest data released till 5 pm in Hyderabad parliamentary constituency in 1,944 polling centres 22,17,9054 exercised their votes accounting for 39.17 percent, Secunderabad parliamentary constituency in 1,810 polling centres voters turn out stood at 21,20,401 constituting 42.48 percent of eligible voters and Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly bye-elections in 232 polling centres 2,53,706 exercised their votes accounting 47.88 percent of the total voters.

After the completion of polling all the EVM are shifted to Reception centres with all the security measures in place. All the polling staff handed over the EVM to the election staff, said DEO in an official statement.

On Monday elections were held for 17 parliamentary constituencies in Telangana state including Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Secunderabad cantonment assembly bye election which fall under Hyderabad District. Forty Five candidates from Secunderabad, thirty candidates from Hyderabad constituency, 15 candidates from Secunderabad Cantonment assembly bye election were in fray.
