Cyberabad Police Booked Drunk And Drive On New Year

HYDERABAD: As many as 1,241 people were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, and cases were filed against them on Sunday on New Year’s Eve in Cyberabad city limits.

All of them will be produced before the court in due course after filing charge sheets. The driving licences of all the offenders will be confiscated and sent to the relevant regional traffic authorities (RTAs) for suspension under Section 19 of the MV Act, 1988.

From December 31st night until January 1st morning, around 74 Cyberabad police teams conducted drunk driving inspections throughout the city to prevent road accidents and other untoward incidents.

Drunk And Drive Test New Year 2024

About 509 people had blood alcohol concentrations greater than 100 mg/100 ml, 33 had readings above 300 mg, and 18 had readings over 500 mg.

The majority of drunken driving (DD) cases were reported in Miyapur, Kukatpally, Madhapur, Gachibowli, Madhapur, Narsingi, and Jeedimetla.

There were no major road accidents in Cyberabad due to the extensive enforcement and traffic and road safety strategies implemented by Cyberabad traffic police.

Drunk Drive Cases List New Year

Cyberabad police will continue to prioritise drunk driving prevention as part of their Zero Tolerance policy to ensure road safety during the long weekend.

Cyberabad police thanked the citizens for their cooperation with police in ensuring safety on roads and incident-free New Year Eve. Cyberabad police extended warm greetings for the new year and appealed to the citizens to be sensible and not indulge in dangerous activities on the roads for the safety of all.
