Hyderabad's Crime Team Cracks Down, Nabbing A Menacing Robbery Gang

Hyderabad: Special Zonal Crime Team, CCS, DD, and Gopalapuram Police Station apprehended a robbery gang in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The police identified the offenders as Mohammed Junaid, aged 22, and Md Sooyub, aged 19, both laborers from Bholakpur, Musheerabad. A juvenile also participated in the crimes.

Modus operandi of robbery gang:

The accused persons hatched a plan to illegal gain easy money by committing property offences to meet their needs, as per their plan they approach to innocent victims on their two wheeler, who used to be on road in night time, they threaten the people by showing Dagger and forcefully extort money and cell phones.

Recovered items’ details:

The police recovered a Bajaj Pulsar NS 125CC motorcycle, four mobile phones (Redmi 12 5G, Vivo Y 200 G, Vivo Y 33, and Xiaomi), and a dagger from the robbery gang.

These items were linked to three cases: Cr.No.184/2024 U/sec 392 IPC. Which states that “On May 24, three men robbed Siddartha Aravind Kumar at knifepoint at Secunderabad’s 16 No. Bus Stop. The assailants, arriving on a bike, snatched his Redmi 12 5G phone and Rs. 400 cash. Kumar reported the incident to Gopalapuram Police, seeking legal action.”

Another case at the same station Cr.No.188/2024 U/s 394 IPC of Gopalapuram PS. Which states that “On Tuesday, three men robbed B. Sanjeev Kumar at knifepoint near Alugaddabavi X Road. The assailants, who had offered him a lift, stole his MI Max phone and injured his hand.”

Another FIR filed at Afzalgunj with Cr.No.354/2024 under IPC section 382.

Inspector D. Bikshapathi, along with HCs Md. Zia and Srisailam, and PCs Md. Mazhar, Ravi Kumar, Vikram, Srinivas, Praveen Kumar, Raghu, and Shahbaz, conducted the operation under ACP G. Venkateswara Reddy’s supervision. They made significant efforts to apprehend the accused, who were then handed over to Gopalapuram Police for further legal action.

Public advisory

The police advise the public to remain vigilant while using mobile phones at night or in isolated areas. Mobile shop owners should avoid purchasing phones without bills, especially from suspicious individuals, and report such encounters to the local police.

This successful operation highlights the dedication of Hyderabad’s law enforcement in maintaining public safety and addressing property crimes effectively. The police continue to urge community cooperation to prevent such offenses.
