BJP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy emerges victorious from Chevella loksabha seat

Chevella: Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, from Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) leading the Chevella parliamentary segment with a margin of 1,72,897 votes. Of the total, 16,75,354 EVM votes polled Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, from Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) garnered a whooping 8,09,882 votes which amounted to 48.34 percent of votes. Further, in a noted development, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, voting share has also increased from 39.52 in 2019 to 48.34 in 2024 parliamentary elections.

Following behind is Dr Gaddam Ranjith Reddy from the Indian National Congress(INC), who has received 6,36,985 votes which is 38.02 percent. He was trailing by a margin of 1,72,897 votes.

In the third place comes Kasani Gyaneshwar from Bharat Rashtra Samithi(BRS), who secured 1,78,968 votes which is 10.68 percent and trailing behind the two leading candidates. The vote counting process in the Chevella parliamentary segment is being closely observed by three parties.

Chevella winning candidate Konda Vishweshwar Reddy through his official X ( formerly twitter) handle said, “My sincere thanks to the people of Chevella parliament Constituency who ensured my victory with a majority of One lakh and fifty thousand votes.”

The Chevella constituency was established in 2009 after the delimitation of Lok Sabha constituencies. Since the formation of Telangana State in 2014, the BRS (then TRS) won the Chevella seat in the Lok Sabha elections held in 2014 and 2019.

Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, who won as an MP on the BRS ticket from Chevella in 2014, joined the Congress in 2018. In the 2019 parliamentary election Konda Vishweshwar Reddy who contested as Indian National congress candidate secured 5,13,831 votes, which amounted to 39.52 percent of vote share. Later, he joined the BJP and now contested as Chevella Lok Sabha candidate from the party and secured a win.
