Telugu-born Sheshabhattar Sheshendra to contest British Parliamentary Elections for Green Party

Hyderabad: Sheshabhattar Sheshendra is contesting as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Green Party in the upcoming British parliamentary elections, scheduled to be held on July 4, 2024. Identifying as a Telugu individual from Telangana, he obtained British citizenship and had a remarkable 21-year progression, leading to his candidacy for the British Parliament.

Sheshendra came to Sheffield, Britain, in 2003 for higher education. Until 2010, he worked at the Environment Agency and an IT company, fulfilling his job responsibilities. During his time in Sheffield, Sheshendra was committed to various public welfare activities and led fellow students and local residents as a dedicated activist.

Since 2010, he has lived in Solihull and has been involved in various community activities. He served as a “Parent Governor” at a local school and worked as a coordinator for Love Solihull on projects such as cleaning up litter, protecting the environment, and making the area a “Clean City” with his family’s support.

In 2018, he organized “Street Watch” to reduce crimes and thefts. For five years, he received awards for his leadership. In 2015, he co-founded the Telangana Europe Cultural Association (TECA) and organized cultural events.

He supported events organized by the Telugu community and celebrated traditional festivals like Vinayaka Chavithi, Bathukamma, Dasara, Deepavali, Sankranti, Holi, Ugadi, and Sri Rama Navami in both Sheffield and Solihull. In 2022, the West Midlands Police Department recognized his social service and awarded him the “Good Citizen” award.

With an unwavering commitment to public service, he sought to expand his initiatives across Britain.

 

Upon interest in joining the Green Party, he understood its policies and contested as a councilor for the Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council in 2021, winning with a significant majority. He worked tirelessly to communicate party policies to the locals. In 2024, he ran again for the Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, winning a second term with a large majority, demonstrating his effective public service.

When British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called for parliamentary elections recently, the Green Party nominated Sheshendra as their MP candidate for Meriden and Solihull East. His dedication to public service was recognized, and he was approved to contest as a Member of Parliament (MP). His continuous effort and selfless service have brought him to this position as an MP candidate.
