Mother Allegedly Strangles Daughter in Hyderabad

A tragic incident unfolded in Hyderabad as a mother, Mote Jangamma, reportedly took the life of her 20-year-old daughter, M Bhargavi, in Ibrahimpatnam. The distressing act of strangulation occurred on 18 March, allegedly stemming from Bhargavi’s love with a boy. According to the complainant the victim’s minor brother, Jangamma had been pressuring Bhargavi to marry a relative, which she refused. Bhargavi had even stopped attending college for two weeks due to the escalating family conflict.

Details of Bhargavi’s Refusal to Marry a Relative and the Alleged Strangulation by Her Mother

The sequence of events leading to the fatal confrontation began when the complainant’s father Adilaiah left for work to Karmanghat, leaving Bhargavi alone at home. Upon their return, the mother and brother found Bhargavi with her boyfriend, B Shashi a resident of Dandumailaram. Subsequently, a violent altercation ensued between Jangamma and Bhargavi, culminating in a tragic outcome where Bhargavi was found strangled with a saree.

The brother, witnessing the harrowing scene, sought help, leading to the discovery of Bhargavi’s lifeless body. Despite efforts to save her, Bhargavi succumbed to her injuries. The mother, Jangamma, faced accusations of premeditated murder.

Following the distressing incident, a case was registered by Ibrahimpatnam police under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, initiating an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Bhargavi’s untimely demise.
