Malkajgiri Map

HYDERABAD: Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency encompasses seven assembly constituencies – Malkajgiri, Medchal, Quthbullapur, Kukatpally, Uppal, LB Nagar, and Secunderabad Cantonment. It has over 31 lakh voters. Which makes it the largest parliamentary constituency in India by electorate size.

Notable Candidates:

In 2019 elections, Anumula Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana won in this constituency with 10,919 votes from INC party. Now Etela Rajender from BJP, Patnam Sunitha Mahender Reddy from INC, and Ragidi Laxma Reddy from BRS are contesting from this constituency.

Referred to as ‘Mini India’, this Lok Sabha constituency is home to a diverse population from all corners of the country. The primary concerns include inadequate infrastructure such as roads and public transportation.

KEY DEMANDS:

Construction of a 5.3 KM double-decker corridor from Paradise Junction in Secunderabad on NH-44 to Dairy Farm Road via Tadband Junction and Bowenpally to address long-standing traffic issues. Enhancement of MMTS (Phase II) & Metro Services to improve connectivity to key areas, including the airport, in Greater Hyderabad.

Additionally, the construction of new railway road over and road under bridges at level crossings is crucial. Locals are advocating for the construction of a road near the Moula Ali railway quarters, housing a pension office and a school. As the absence of this road has been causing inconvenience.

Improved street lighting is demanded for the safety of residents, particularly working women returning home late at night. Solutions are sought for traffic congestion and flooding on streets due to inadequate drainage systems.
