Hyderabad Task force nab interstate drug peddlers, seize 1.27 KG of hash oil

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad’s Commissioner’s Task Force and Begum Bazar Police apprehended three interstate drug peddlers near Gandhi Bhavan Metro Station. They seized 1.275 kg of hash oil, a motorbike, and four mobile phones, totaling Rs. 8.65 lakhs in value.

Arrest and seizures details

Acting on credible information, the South West Zone Task Force team and Begum Bazar Police intercepted the peddlers on their Access-125 bike near Bheem Rao Bada, Nampally Road. They seized 1.275 kg of hash oil, worth Rs. 7.65 lakhs, from the accused. The hash oil was packed in one plastic cover (950 grams) and 65 small plastic vessels (325 grams in total).

The arrested peddlers are identified as Korra Babu alias David, Chandan Kumar Choudhury alias Dinesh alias Anil, and Yaddhnapudi Dhanraj. Korra Babu, the supplier, hails from Anthruguda village in Andhra Pradesh. He sourced the hash oil from Odisha to supply to Chandan Kumar Choudhury, a main peddler from Dammaiguda, Hyderabad, and Yaddhnapudi Dhanraj, a sub-peddler from Baghlingampally.

The seized items include an Access-125 motorbike with the registration number AP09CJ4819 and four mobile phones: an iPhone-13, an Oppo, a OnePlus, and a Samsung Galaxy M32. The total value of the seized items is Rs. 8.65 lakhs.

A case has been registered against the accused persons at Begum Bazar Police Station under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.

Appeal to the public

In recent times drug usage and abuse is increasing day by day in youth. For the same, the Commissioner’s Task Force appeals to the public to stop using drugs and substance abuse. They request parents to monitor their children’s daily activities to prevent them from falling prey to drugs. The police urged public to report any information regarding drug abuse, drug trafficking to the police.

The arrests were made under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police YVS Sudheendra and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police A. Srinivasa Rao. South West Zone Task Force Inspector S. Bala Swamy, SI B. Ajeeth Singh, Inspector G. Vijay Kumar, and SI Y. Sai Theja Reddy of Begum Bazar Police Station played crucial roles in the operation.
