Hyderabad police nab three in milk adulteration case in Kachiguda

KACHIGUDA: Hyderabad city police on Monday arrested three individuals for milk adulteration and seized 80 liters of milk and 15 milk packets. The police also seized one liter of Ammonium Sulphate liquid, Kesar Yellow color, one sealing machine, and 20 empty covers.

The accused, Prabhakar Reddy a resident of Kachiguda, has been running a milk business for a few years and used to purchase milk from HF cows in Gaddiannaram, Dilsukhnagar, for Rs. 50 per liter. He would then add some amount of water to the milk.

Later, to increase the density of the lactometer reading while maintaining the milk’s density, he would add Ammonium Sulphate and Kesar yellow (color) to give the milk a desired color, which could lead to health problems.

Additionally, the accused would pack the adulterated milk with the help of laborers and deliver it in the Habeeb Nagar and Mehdipatnam areas.

Acting on a tip-off, the sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, South West zone team, and Habeeb Nagar police conducted a raid on a manufacturing unit producing adulterated milk. They apprehended one accused person and two laborers and seized a significant quantity of incriminating material from their possession.

A case has been registered pertaining to Cr. No.: 147/2024 under sections 272, 273, 336, and 420 of the Indian Penal Code at the Habeeb Nagar police station against the accused person.

The raid was conducted under the supervision of S. Rashmi Perumal, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad, along with S. Bala Swamy, Inspector of South West Zone Task Force, SI S. SaiKiran, and Habeeb Nagar Inspector T. Ramu, and SI V. Sandeep, Police Inspector, along with their staff in Hyderabad.
