HYDERABAD: Hyderabad city police have filed charges against BJP MLA RajaSingh for conducting a rally procession on account of Ramnavami without obtaining prior permission from the relevant authorities.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) issued by Afzalgunj police station, on April 17th, BJP MLA RajaSingh, along with Joginder Singh Bittu, conducted a rally procession without obtaining prior permission from the relevant authorities.

The complaint filed by Afzalgunj sub-inspector P. Ramakishan states, “Goshamahal BJP MLA T. Raja Singh, along with Joginder Singh Bittu and others, organized and carried out the rally procession without obtaining prior permission from the authorities. The rally, accompanied by a large number of devotees, started from the Mangalhat area towards Hanuman Vyamshala, proceeding to Sultan Bazar limits. Upon reaching Central Gurudwara, Gowliguda, Singh halted the procession and addressed a large crowd, influencing them through his speech to gain voters. This resulted in wrongful restraint, traffic congestion, lighting of firecrackers in a crowded area, and creating public nuisance by violating orders.

Furious over the case, BJP’s Raja Singh said, “On the occasion of Ram Navami procession, several devotees had set up welcome platforms and arrangements for water and food were made for the arriving devotees. Despite such welcome gestures, those who set up welcome platforms have also been forcefully booked by the police department. I want to know, during the month of Ramadan, shops remain open all night and hotels are also open. Why don’t police follow the election code during the month of Ramadan, and there is no action taken against the Muslim community? We know that whenever the Congress forms a government in the state, it oppresses the Hindu religion and Hindus. I want to know, are there separate laws for Hindus and Muslims?.”
