Suspects warn rivals in Instagram posts after murder in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: At approximately 3:30 am today, a brutal murder occurred at Bathukamma Ghat in Pragati Nagar, Hyderabad. The victim was attacked by a group of around 20 unidentified individuals, who later posted Instagram reels with blood-stained hands, issuing a warning to their rivals.

The victim, Tejas alias Sidhu of Dasaram Basti in SR Nagar, was an accused in a murder case for which he went to jail two months ago before being released on bail. Following his release, Sidhu resided in Pragati Nagar with his mother. However, on Sunday night, he visited his mother’s village where he consumed alcohol at home with his friends before the fatal incident occurred.

According to the special branch, one of Siddu’s friends informed his adversaries of his whereabouts. Subsequently, twenty people on motorcycles arrived, forcefully took him from his home late at night, and fatally stabbed him with knives.

Later, the murderers made Instagram reels, showing their blood-stained hands and the knife, warning their opponents that approaching them would result in death. They also revealed their faces and were observed dancing on the streets of Hyderabad city.

Three suspects, including Shivappa and Samir, have been arrested in connection with the murder after their social media posts about the crime went viral. They are currently in police custody and are being interrogated. The police have described the murder as an act of revenge, stemming from the victim’s prior involvement in a murder case in SR Nagar.

A search is underway for any additional suspects. The police have registered a case and are actively investigating the matter.
