Hyderabad Police Arrest Drug Peddler

Ameerpet: Six drug peddlers were arrested by SR nagar police of Hyderabad commissionerate on Friday. The police have seized 21 kgs of ganja from their possession.

The arrested accused were identified as Mohammed Abdul Kalam, Bommena Jhonsen, Molugoori Naveen, Suluva Suresh, Mamidipally Rajesh, and KosuriSathish.

On Thursday night while the accused were strolling in the street suspicious, the patrolling police identified them in front of ABC Hotel and apprehended them as they were suspicious. When frisked were found in possession of ganja packets and on questioning, they confessed and led the Police to Saleem Nagar, Malakpet to apprehend two other accused.

Investigation revealed that the absconding accused sent 21 Kgs Ganja to KosuriSathish through Krishna. KosuriSathish collected the Ganja from at Secunderabad Railway Station. S.R Nagar Police apprehended them and took them into custody and recovered the contraband.

Further investigation revealed Mohammed Abdul Kalam,Bommena Jhonsen and Molugoori Naveen are friends and they are addicted to consuming Ganja by purchasing from Suluva Suresh, Mamidipally Rajesh from the last few years. Later from the last two years All of them started selling the Ganja to the needy customers in Hyderabad and surrounding areas and also in their native place. The accused procured Ganja from Odisha State through Satish and also supply Ganja to sell to the peddlers of Maharashtra State. The Accused formed as Gang of Drug suppliers and procure Ganja from through his main associate in the surroundings of Andhra and Mancherial, Adilabad Areas. All the accused were arrested and sent to judicial custody. In this case the main drug supplier Ashok and many other drug peddlers from Odisha and Maharashtra are absconding. The efforts are under progress to nab them.

Hyderabad police appealed to the general public that the Telangana Police are making strenuous efforts to make the State “Drug Free”. It is appealing that the parents, friends, relatives need to keep close watch on their wards/friends/children to identify any suspicious behavior to prevent drug addiction. Only with the joint efforts of the Police and the society, the aim of making our State “Drug Free” can be realised.
