HYDERABAD: The Commissioner’s Task Force, in collaboration with Bowenpally Police, apprehended three notorious Ganja peddlers – Jai Singh Bhati, Rup Chand Kachawa, and Prem Kumar Parmar – near Diamond Point, Bowenpally on January 8, 2024. The trio, facing financial challenges, had ventured into the illegal trade and were transporting 130 kgs of Ganja from Rajahmundry to Medchal in two intercepted vehicles – a Bolero with registration number TS07-UD 0379 and a Maruti Suzuki Swift Red without a visible license plate.

The Commissioner’s Task Force, working in coordination with the South-East Zone Team and Bowenpally Police, successfully intercepted the vehicles at around 9:30 am. The arrests were made under the supervision of various police officials, including DCP Rohini Priyadarshini and ACP Narasimha Rao.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that Jai Singh Bhati, the owner of Tirumala Noodles in Jeedimetla’s Subhash Nagar for the past 16 years, had ventured into an unconventional business – a Donkey Farm in Kucharam, Medak, with A-3 Prem Kumar Parmar as his working partner. About four months ago, they connected with Mangilal and Dharmendra, who introduced them to ganja supplier Rajan from Rajahmundry.

The duo offered assistance in procuring Ganja from supplier Ranjan of Rajamandry, with the intention of capitalizing on the high demand in Hyderabad. A meticulously planned trip to Rajahmundry on January 6, 2024, led to the purchase of 130 kilograms of Ganja, for which they paid Rs. 5.20 lakhs to Ranjan. However, their illegal activities came to an end when intercepted at Diamond Point, Bowenpally, by law enforcement on January 8, 2024, at 12:10 am.

The masterminds behind the Ganja supply chain, including Ranjan, Mangilal, and Dharmendra, remained at large and were absconding at the time of the arrests.

The arrests were conducted under the supervision of various police officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police Sreebala D, ACP Ramalinga Raju, Inspector of Police Saidababu, and other police officials from the Commissioner’s Task Force and Bowenpally police station, Hyderabad
