Ameerpet: Hyderabad is gearing up for the most revered and celebrated Balkampet Yellamma Kalyanotsavam(marriage ceremony) in the second week of July. Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar stated that 20 crores were allocated to conduct the Bonalu with grandeur. Thousands of devotees are expected to flock to the temple to offer prayers during the Balkampet Yellamma Kalyanam to be held on July 8, 9 and 10.

Hyderabad in-charge minister Ponnam Prabhakar visited the temple and held a review meeting on the arrangements for Ammavari Kalyanotsavam in the wake of Ashadam month bonalu on Tuesday. After the review meeting taking to social media Transport and BC minister Ponnan Prabhakar posted in x (formerly twitter), “All measures are being taken to ensure that devotees do not face any difficulties.The government has taken all measures in the wake of the bonalu festivities in the month of Ashadha. A state-level review meeting has already been convened with the top officials of all departments.

Emphasizing the necessary arrangement being made to make it a grand success, Ponnam Prabhakar said, “The government has taken the Bonalu festival as a prestigious one. Last year, Rs 15 crore was allocated for bonalu, but with the initiative of the endowments minister Konda surekhaRs 20 crore has been allocated this time.

The review focused on the arrangements for the Kalyanotsavam of the goddess during Bonalu, measures to ensure devotees face no difficulties, and steps to prevent the recurrence of issues encountered in previous years.

Police, electricity, water works and other departments are conducting a review at The Yellamma Temple in Balkampet to ensure uninterrupted power supply and address issues of roads and sanitation.

The meeting was attended by GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, Principal Secretary of the Endowments Department Shailaja Ramaiyer,Sanathnagar Congress Party in-charge Kota Neelima, local corporator Sarala, Zonal Commissioner Anurag Jayant, and officials from the police, electricity, water works, R&B, and other departments.
