Hyderabad Police Seize Multiple Stolen Vehicles

Hyderabad: In a significant breakthrough, the Begumpet Police Station cracked a case of vehicle theft following a complaint lodged by Smit Patel on April 13, 2024. Patel reported the theft of his TVS Jupiter, which was taken from his residence after he inadvertently left the keys in the vehicle overnight.

Upon receiving the complaint, Begumpet PS swiftly registered a case and initiated an investigation. Under the guidance of Rohini Priyadarshini, I.P.S., DCP North Zone, the Crime Team of Begumpet, led by  M. Mallesham, Detective Inspector of Police, and assisted by K. Gangadhar, a Sub-Inspector of the Police, was tasked with tracing the missing vehicle.

Begumpet Police Utilized Technology to Bust Vehicle Theft Ring

Utilizing high-end technology available with the ICCC Hyderabad City Police, the Crime Team traced the stolen vehicle to Shaheen Nagar of Chandrayangutta through CCTV footage analysis. Subsequently, a surveillance operation was launched in the area, identifying a similar vehicle without registration plates.

Upon verification of the chassis and engine numbers, the suspect was apprehended, and upon interrogation, confessed to the crime along with a juvenile accomplice. The duo had been stealing vehicles, removing registration plates, and engaging in reckless stunts such as wheeling, which they would post on social media platforms like Instagram and WhatsApp.

Further investigation revealed that the offenders were involved in similar crimes across various police stations within the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate, resulting in the seizure of multiple stolen vehicles, including a Dio, Jupiter, and RX-100. Cases have been registered in Sanath Nagar PS of Cyberabad Commissionerate, as well as SR Nagar PS, HamuyunNagar PS, Ramgopalpet PS, and Film Nagar PS of Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate.

The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of  P. Ashok, Addl. DCP North Zone, P. Gopala Krishna Murthy, ACP Begumpet Division, and CH. Ramaiah, Inspector of Police Begumpet.

This successful crackdown underscores the commitment of the Hyderabad Police to ensuring the safety and security of citizens and serves as a warning to those engaging in criminal activities across the city.
