Jubilee Hills: Another Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader, Gutha Amit Reddy joined the Indian National Congress(INC) party in Telangana on Monday. Gutha Amit Reddy, son of senior BRS leader, Telangana Legislative Council Chairman, Gutha Sukender Reddy joined the party in the presence of AICC incharge principal secretary Deepadas Munshi.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy welcomed Gutha Amit into the party in the presence of other senior congress leaders, including minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, AICC secretary Rohith Choudhary, DCC president Rohin Reddy among others at the CM’s residence in Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad.

This jump is going to be another shock for the BRS party in the context of parliamentary elections. The state of Telangana is going for the Lok Sabha polls for the 17 parliamentary constituencies on May 13, 2024. The results of the same would be announced on June 4. In this race, the ruling Congress party, the opposition BRS, AIMIM and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are in the race.

In this context, the BRS leader joining the congress would become a setback for the pink party. However, the party seems to be prepared, as the speculations about Gutha Amit Reddy joining Congress party have been rife since last one month. Previously, Gutha Amit met Congress minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy in the March 2nd week and discussed his desire to shift to the Congress.

Gutha Amit is a leader coming from Gutha Sukender family, which has a strong local support in their Nalgonda constituency. Speculations are rife that Sukender might also shift to the Congress sooner or later and it is yet to be seen in which direction he would be taking. However, his position as the Legislative Council Chairman is also stopping him from making a decision in this regard. The political atmosphere in Nalgonda has become a hot topic with this recent jump from Gutha family into the Congress.
