Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police’s Drug Disposal Committee destroyed 5006.934 kilograms of ganja on Friday, June 14, 2024. The narcotics were disposed of at the GJ Multiclave (India) Pvt. Ltd., which is a Common Bio-Medical Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility located in Edulapally Village, Nandigama Mandal, Rangareddy District.

The Telangana Government and Cyberabad Police have implemented strict measures to combat the spread of drugs and narcotics, which are negatively impacting the youth.

The following drugs were destroyed:
– Ganja Plant: 38.820 grams
– Hashish Oil: 2647.320 grams
– Cocaine: 45.04 grams
– Charas: 6.6 grams
– Mephedrone: 12.3 grams
– Ecstasy tablets: 168 grams
– Ecstasy Powder: 0.54 grams
– LSD: 44 papers
– Heroin: 46 grams
– Methamphetamine: 1.46 grams
– Liquid Opium: 225.72 grams
– Gel Ganja: 14 grams
– Chocolate weed: 1

The destroyed narcotic drugs are related to 15 types of cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. A total of 122 cases were registered across 5 zones (Balanagar, Madhapur, Medchal, Rajendranagar, and Shamshabad) and 30 police stations within the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits over the last 3 years.

The Drug Disposal Committee is led by Chairman DCP Crimes K. Narasimha, ACP Cyber Crimes Ravinder Reddy, CCRB ACP Kalinga Rao, and Narcotics Inspector Shivaprasad along with their team.
