Cyberabad Police Books Navaneeth Kaur Under Election Code Violation

Cyberabad: Following a complaint from election surveillance officials, Shadnagar police of Cyberabad commissionerate booked a case against the Maharashtra BJP leader and former Tollywood actor, Navaneeth Kaur on Friday.

On Thursday at around 8pm, BJP leaders conducted a corner meeting at Shadnagar Chowrasta and took out a rally. During the corner meeting, BJP party special guest Navaneeth Kaur, who is a BJP party MP candidate from Amravati, Maharastar made objectionable comments violating the model code of conduct(MCC), said election surveillance officials.

Flying squad team(FST) of Farooqnagar and Keshampet Mandals, comprising Agriculture officer Endabetla Krishna Mohan, K. Anjaneyulu police constable and Videographer P. Suresh, while conducting their duties at Shadnagar chowrasta observed the objectionable remarks made by Navaneeth Kaur, and lodged a complaint with Shadnagar police.

According to the complaint, Navaneeth Kaur said, “Congress party ki Vote veste Pakistan ki vote Vesinatte( If you vote for congress party, you are voting for Pakistan)” in the corner meeting at Shadnagar Chowrasta. This amounts to a model Code of Conduct(MCC) violation and a complaint has been filed.

Based on the complaint, a case has been booked under sections 171(C)(Undue influence at elections), 171(f)( Punishment for undue influence or personation at an election), 171-(g)(False statement in connection with an election) and 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of Indian Penal Code(IPC).

Earlier controversy erupted over BJP MP Navneet Kaur Rana and Hyderabad AIMIM MP candidate Asaduddin Owaisi over remarks on “15 minutes required” statements. BJP MP Navneet Rana reacting to Hyderabad MP brother Akbaruddin Owaisi’s 15 min statement made in 2013 said, “It will only take us 15 seconds to wipe you out not 15 minutes.” MP Asaduddin Owaisi responded strongly to the comments “We will give time to them. What will they do? Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also in power. What 15 seconds, they can take one hour. Why don’t they do it?” he asked.
