Special teams inspections reveal food violations in several eateries
Hyderabad/Rangareddy: Special teams conducted inspections in Rangareddy, Medchal, and Kompally on Sunday revealed violations in food quality several restaurants. This special team conducted inspections in Taaza All Day Breakfast in Medchal, Train Theme Restaurant in Kompally, and Prism Restaurant and Bar in Vattinagulapally.

Taaza All Day Breakfast, Medchal
At Taaza All Day Breakfast in Medchal, inspectors found and discarded food colors stored in the storeroom. They also found vegetables and lemons of poor quality, deeming them unfit for consumption and discarding them. Inspectors discarded Dalchini found in improper condition in the store. The medical records of food handlers were unavailable, raising concerns about hygiene. Unlabelled tea powder and infested foxtail millet (korralu) were also found and discarded. The restaurant had not initiated a pest control program, which is crucial for maintaining hygiene.
Train Theme Restaurant, Kompally
At Train Theme Restaurant in Kompally, inspectors discovered infested cashew stock. They also found cauliflower and onions in poor condition. The inspection revealed a blockage of water in the sink, indicating inadequate maintenance. Statutory samples were collected and sent to the lab for further analysis. This inspection highlights the importance of proper storage and hygiene practices in food establishments to ensure public safety.
Prism Restaurant and Bar, Vattinagulapally
Inspectors found expired food items at Prism Restaurant and Bar in Vattinagulapally. They also discovered rat faeces in the storeroom, indicating a severe hygiene issue. Vegetables stored for a long time in the refrigerator were found to be substandard. The kitchen had stagnant water and a foul smell, highlighting poor sanitation practices.
