Construction noise disrupts Manikonda residents at night

MANIKONDA: A significant number of residents in Panchavati Colony, Manikonda, are facing noise pollution due to ongoing constructions in their area, especially during nighttime.

Residents claim that the noise issue stems from the nighttime transportation of materials by trucks. The disturbances caused by construction activities in Manikonda had turned into a significant nighttime noise problem, affecting everyone’s sleep and posing challenges for students trying to study during those hours.

The residents took to social media to voice their concerns, with one resident from Road No. 16, Panchavati Colony, stating, “All the residents here are facing issues due to ongoing constructions, lots of noise during the night. Request you to kindly take quick and corrective action.”

Sitaram Dhulipala, President of the Manikonda Resident Welfare Association, said, The ongoing constructions in and around Panchavati colony is causing disturbance. This is due to trucks transporting materials being allowed only at night, leading to noise issues. Additionally, nighttime concreting, especially by the Aparna venture and another site, is contributing to increased noise levels.”

Sitaram Dhulipala added, “Residents along the same road have lodged complaints, and in the past, we have addressed these concerns with the police, who responded positively. We hope for a swift resolution to this current issue.”
