Hyderabad:The raids of Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) started with the break of dawn, continued till late night and concluded after fourteen hours with the arrest of Hyderabad CCS ACP Umamaheswara Rao. The tainted official was produced before the ACB court on Wednesday.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau(ACB) conducted simultaneous raids across fourteen locations spreading over two Telugu states. Further law enforcement stumbled upon Seventeen properties acquired illegally exploiting his government job. The list include immovable properties located in Telangana state- Five properties in Ghatkesar in the outskirts of the city, Four properties in Ashok Nagar area where the accused officer residence is located and One property each in Shamirpet, Kukatpally and Medchal-malkajgiri. And the properties located in Andhra Pradesh-Seven properties in Chodavaram area near Vishakapatnam. The officials have seized all the property documents.

In addition to this ACB also unveiled movable properties of 60 tulas gold and 37.50 lakhs cash. The agency pegged the official value of total movable and immovable properties seized at Rs 3.46 crores from the accused. Further pointed out that the market value is expected to be much higher than official value. ACB also found two bank lockers which are not opened yet however the agency have freezed the lockers

Delving deep into allegations

Further the agency is delving deep into allegations that the accused received some kickbacks in some investigation he spearheaded. Umamaheswara Rao, is investigation officer in the high-profile cases like Sahithi Infra and others. The accused officer was produced before the Special court dealing with ACB cases and further sent to judicial custody. ACB stated that they will request the court for their custody to further question the investments and involvement of others. Further investigation is underway.

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) requested the public to contact the Toll Free Number of ACB, which is 1064 if any public servant demanded a bribe. The anti corruption agency assured that they would take action as per the law, as they receive complaints.
