HYDERABAD: On Tuesday night, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone, nabbed two individuals involved in an attempted murder case within the jurisdiction of the Moghalpura Police Station. The accused, identified as Shaik Sajid alias Sajid, a 28-year-old vegetable vendor from Barkas, Hyderabad, and Shaik Amer alias Ammu alias ATM, a 37-year-old auto driver from Bhavani Nagar, Hyderabad.

The incident unfolded at the Y5 Bar and Restaurant, Nagulchinta X Roads, Moghalpura. After consuming alcohol, the victim Pavan Roopner, about 27-years-old, went to the parking slot at Y5 Bar when all of a sudden an altercation ensued between him and the accused. Following the argument, the accused verbally abused and attacked Roopner with a sharp-edged blade or knife, causing him to sustain bleeding injuries to his neck and ear. Meanwhile, Sai Prasad, one of the employees of the Y5 Bar and Restaurant, intervened to help Roopner but was also attacked, resulting in bleeding injuries to the left side of his face.

Acting on a tip-off, the South Zone Task Force swiftly apprehended the suspects, who were subsequently booked under Cr.No: 58/2024 U/s 307, 504, r/w 34 IPC and handed over to the Moghalpura Police Station for further legal proceedings. 

The successful operation was conducted under the supervision of Sri. Ande Srinivasa Rao, Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police, Commissioners Taskforce, Hyderabad, and executed by Sri Shaik Jakeer Hussain, Inspector of Police, South Zone Task Force, along with SIs K. Narasimhulu, J. Anjaneyulu, N. Naveen, and the South Zone Task Force Team, Hyderabad.

Both the accused, Shaik Sajid and and Shaik Amer involved in the case, hail from the Old City of Hyderabad with a criminal history. Shaik Sajid is a known rowdy sheeter at Balapur Police Station, Rachakonda, has a history of involvement in nine property and bodily offences. Similarly, has been linked to three property offences.
