TSRTC launches men-exclusive bus service from LB Nagar to Ibrahimpatnam

LB NAGAR: Telangana Road and Transport Services (TSRTC) on Thursday launched a pilot men-exclusive bus service in Hyderabad.
The bus service currently operates between LB Nagar to Ibrahimpatnam, with a single bus making the round trip. The first bus leaves at 8:30 a.m. and returns at 4:30 p.m.
The purpose of the single bus service, which is only for men, is to meet the demands of engineering college students who frequently travel along this route.
The TSRTC introduced this service following a surge in women using RTC buses due to the Congress government’s free bus ride scheme.

Somajiguda: The Joint Action Committee(JAC) of the Telangana State Sarpanches Association met Telangana Governor CP Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan, Somajiguda submitted a representation regarding the issues faced by the sarpanches on Sunday.
An eight-member delegation led by Telangana State Sarpanches Association JAC president Survi Yadaiah Goud and Telangana sarpanches’ forum president Lakshmi Narasimha Reddy met the Governor and apprised him of their problems.
They submitted a representation outlining challenges faced by sarpanches, emphasizing delayed government responses post-term expiry. Speaking on the occasion Survi Yadaiah Goud, state president of the Telangana Sarpanches’ Association JAC, said, “We have informed the Governor that even after six months of the expiry of the term of the sarpanches, the state government is not responding to the problems of the sarpanches and the development of the village”.
Further Yadaiah Goud added that governor Radhakrishnan assured to discuss with the state government and ensure that their pending bills would be released immediately.
President of the Sarpanches’ Association Forum, Lakshmi Narasimha Reddy, said “Development programmes, rythu vedikas, sports complexes, gram panchayat buildings, CC roads and underground drainages have been developed at the cost of their own money”.
He further added that the government was not taking a clear stand on the bills that were due to them. “We have submitted representations to the collectors, ministers and the chief minister several times but they did not pay heed to it. We have developed villages by mortgaging our properties. Some sarpanches have even committed suicide. Sarpanches are struggling with financial difficulties in their families” explain Reddy. He urged the central and state governments to allocate funds to the gram panchayats immediately.
Telangana State Sarpanches Association JAC president Survi Yadaiah Goud, Telangana Sarpanches’ Forum President Guduru Lakshmi Narasimha Reddy, Madhusudhan Reddy, Subhash Goud, Ganesh Mudiraj, Rajender and others met the Governor and submitted a memorandum.

Hyderabad : As India wins the T20 World Cup against its rival South Africa, celebrations across the nation have soared high. However, the vibe at Hyderabad stood unmatched on Saturday night. The city did not sleep in happiness.
On Saturday night, India etched history by winning the cup. If we go into the match details, India had set a target of 177/7 for the South African Team, where the team could only manage 169/8 in 20 overs, falling short of seven runs to win the game. This has resulted in the victory of the Indian team.
As the glimpse of victory telecasted on the screens, a sea of fans ensembled at the Telangana Secretariat to showcase their pride after India won the World Cup after 17 long years.
People were seen holding Indian Flags, firing crackers and sharing happy moments with each other. Celebrations were soaring high at the RTC X Roads in Secunderabad and at the Secretariat, which is usually a Tourist point in the city.

Cyberabad police crackdown on drunk driving, nabs 262 offenders

Cyberabad: Continuing its drive against the drunk and driving and wrong side driving Cyberabad Traffic Police stepped up the enforcement. Cyberabad Traffic Police (CTP) apprehended 262 offenders for driving under the influence of alcohol on Saturday late night.
With the increase in alcohol impairment related crashes in Cyberabad commissionerate limits, Cyberabad traffic police led a large-scale enforcement against intoxicated drivers in commissionerate limits and apprehended 262 offenders Saturday night. Among those apprehended were 191 two-wheelers, 11 three-wheelers, 56 four-wheelers, and 4 heavy vehicle drivers. It is pertinent to note that twelve individuals were found with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) ranging between 300 mg/100 ml and 550 mg/100 ml, significantly above the legal limit 30 mg/ 100 ml.
Earlier Cyberabad Joint Commissioner of Police Traffic, D. Joel Davis warned about the menace of alcohol impairment driving and said, “Drunk driving and unauthorized driving have been major causes of road crashes and fatalities in Cyberabad. We have been taking stringent legal action against such violators.” In light of the increasing road accidents due to drunk driving, the police have begun to act strictly against such drivers, he added.
If anybody indulges in driving under the influence of alcohol and cause accidents killing people, such persons will be arrested and sent to jail under section 304 part II of IPC (July 1,2024 onwards section 105 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita )(culpable homicide not amounting to murder) for which maximum punishment is 10 years of jail said Cyberabad traffic police in an official statement.
