Trash Mounts On Rethi Bowli Road, Residents Demand Immediate Action

HYDERABAD: A significant amount of garbage has been dumped, causing a foul smell, environmental harm, and road damage, posing health risks and fostering mosquito breeding near Rethi Bowli Road in Hyderabad.

Various types of waste, particularly plastic and other debris, are recklessly thrown at a single spot near the junction. As a result, nearly half of the road is now engulfed in garbage.

A concerned citizen captured a distressing video of the massive garbage pile while passing through Rethi Bowli Road and shared it on Twitter. This has prompted a surge of questions, with many questioning the absence of trash cans or garbage pickup services from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in the area.

An anonymous commuter in Hyderabad expressed disappointment over the ongoing situation, especially considering the GHMC’s provision of auto pick-up services. If a road adjacent to the main road is in such a state, one can only imagine conditions within the colonies.

The commuter urged the GHMC to address the issue promptly before it exacerbated further problems.

“It’s not solely the authorities’ responsibility. As citizens, we play a significant role. Let’s demonstrate basic civic sense and refrain from polluting our surroundings. Let’s pause and think before we act, for the betterment of our community and environment,” urged the admin of TG Citizen.

A resident of Rethi Bowli mentioned the absence of garbage collection service in the area.

TG Citizen posted on ‘X’, “OMG, half of the road in #RethiBowli is covered in trash & mess. Are surrounding residents not provided with auto service, or have they become accustomed to throwing waste on the road?”
