Khairatabad: Transport department employees condemned the recent attack on Hyderabad Joint Transport Commissioner Ramesh on Thursday. In response to the attack, the union leaders announced a state-wide “pen down” protest, on Friday.

Going further into details, Amanullah Khan, the leader of the auto-rickshaw union reportedly lost his cool and assaulted Joint Transport Commissioner Ramesh on Thursday which sparked outrage in the department. The union leaders have demanded the immediate arrest of Khan, who forcibly entered Commissioner Ramesh’s office and assaulted him. The union leaders of the transport department have demanded immediate arrest of Amanullah Khan, the leader of the auto rickshaw union, who stormed into the chamber of Joint Transport Commissioner Ramesh and assaulted Ramesh.

Transport officials called for pen down as a mark of protest and solidarity with Commissioner Ramesh. They further gathered and raised slogans demanding justice and ensuring the safety of all our colleagues.“This act of violence against a senior officer is unacceptable and must be met with swift justice,” We demand the immediate arrest of Amanullah Khan to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future,” said Ravindra Kumar, one of the union leaders.

Union leaders Ravindra Kumar, Chandra Shekhar Goud, Srinivasa Reddy, Ramakrishna, Arunendra Prasad, Enjula Reddy, Srinivas, and others participated in the protest and condemned the assault and expressed their solidarity with Commissioner Ramesh. Further they lodged a complaint with Panjagutta police who booked a case and started an investigation.
