Telangana Government approves recruitment of 3,035 posts in TGSRTC

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has granted approval to fill 3,035 vacant positions in the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC). RTC officials have given green signal to fill all the proposed posts. Among these vacancies, there are 2,000 for drivers, 743 for laborers, 114 for Deputy Superintendents (Mechanic), 84 for Deputy Superintendents (Traffic), 25 for Depot Managers/Assistant Traffic Managers, 23 for Assistant Engineers (Civil), 15 for Assistant Mechanical Engineers, and 11 for Section Officers (Civil). Additionally, there are 7 positions each for General Medical Officers and Specialist Medical Officers.

Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed his satisfaction over the government’s approval of these 3,035 positions across various categories in RTC. He extended his gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for granting permission to fill these vacancies. He noted that since the formation of Telangana state, TGSRTC had not issued any job notifications, and this initiative will ease the burden on the public transport system.

Minister Prabhakar emphasized that this move will further strengthen the state’s public transport system. He highlighted that the corporation, with the state government’s support, is acquiring new buses to meet increased demand under the Mahalakshmi scheme, ensuring compliance with the regulations for these new vehicles. The minister confirmed that the process to fill the 3,035 posts will commence promptly.

TGSRTC job notification

VC Sajjanar, Managing Director of TGSRTC, expressed gratitude on behalf of the corporation for the state government’s swift approval to fill these 3,035 posts, recognizing the critical role of public transport. He thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for immediately approving the proposals, as well as Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar for their proactive roles in this decision.

Sajjanar highlighted that direct recruitment had not taken place in the organization since 2012, marking a gap of about 12 years. He emphasized that the recent sanction of these 3,035 posts by the government will significantly bolster the organization’s capabilities. Assuring efficient service delivery to the public, he underscored the benefits of the Mahalakshmi scheme in enhancing operational effectiveness.

 

The management of TGSRTC affirmed their commitment to swiftly completing the recruitment process for these positions in accordance with the state government’s directives.
