Tensions Rise at Pocharam’s residence in Banjara Hills as he Joins Congress

Tensions At Pocharam's Residence

Banjarahills: Tensions were high at former Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy residence in Banjara hills. Earlier in the day, Pocharam addressed the media along with Telangana state Chief Minister and TPCC president Anumula Revanth Reddy and informed them that he joined congress party. The Protesting BRS leaders were taken into preventive custody by Banjara Hills police of Hyderabad commissionerate.

BRS leaders including Former Government whip and MLA Balka Suman protested against joining at Pocharam’s residence and tried to barge into the residence while Telangana state Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy visited Srinivas Reddy’s residence at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad.

Student Wing (BRSV) president Gellu Srinivasa Yadav, and other BRS leaders Anjaneya Goud, Balraj Yadav, Vasudeva Reddy, Tunga Balu, Rakesh Kumar and others participated in the protest and raised slogans against the Chief Minister, Revant Reddy. Further they tried to obstruct the Chief Minister’s convoy from leaving the former Speaker’s residence. Heated arguments took place between the BRS workers and police. Subsequently they were detained by Banjara Hills police. The protestors were taken into preventive custody and were shifted to Banjarahills police station.

Speaking to the media Former MP from Peddapalli Balka Suman said, “The chief minister is buying the MLA from BRS. His concentration is more on buying than administration. Congress is trying to force BRS MLA to shift their loyalties. They won from the BRS ticket and joining congress. Democracy is being murdered by the Chief minister. ”

Pocharam Srinivas Reddy contested from Bharat Rashtra Samithi(BRS) for Bansawada assembly constituency in the recent Telangana concluded state general elections 2023 and secured 76,278 votes and won against Eanugu Ravinder Reddy of Indian National congress (INC) with a margin of 23,464 votes.

It may be recalled that already three BRS MLAs joined Congress- Khairtabad MLA Danam Nagender, Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari and Bhadrachalam MLA Tellam Venkata Rao.
