CM Revanth Reddy plays football in University of Hyderabad

Gachibowli: While the state of Telangana is all set for the Parliamentary elections on May 13, 2024, the Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is seen playing football in University of Hyderabad (UoH) on Sunday morning, as he visits the varsity to inaugurate the match. The match was conducted by Hyderabad Central University’s National Students Union of India (NSUI) Unit and NSUI state president, Balmoor Venkat and HCU NSUI incharge Ajay.

The Chief Minister went ahead and played the game by taking off his shoes as well, which can be seen in the videos that were circulating on social media. According to the sources, along with CM Revanth Reddy, Member of Legislative Council (MLC), Balmoor Venkat, Member of Parliament (MP), Anil Kumar Yadav, Telangana Minorities Residential Institutional Education Society TMRIES (TMRIES), President Faheemuddin Khureshi, HCU NSUI unit members and others students from central university were also present. Along with the above, Chief Minister’s advisor, Vemnarender Reddy, Government advisor, H Venugopal, Food Corporation Chairm,an M A Fahim, T SAT CEO Venugapal Reddy among otherswere also present.

The video of Revanth Reddy playing the game has also gone viral on social media and has been receiving a mixed response from the netizens. While some netizens were appreciating the fitness levels of Revanth Reddy in his age, some others netizens have also questioned Revanth Reddy for his attire, as he was wearing a jersey with the name of INDIA on it, which is also the name of the opposition alliance in the country. Pointing the same, an user said, “@ECISVEEP is this even allowed, wearing a INDIA team jersey coincidentally their alliance name is I.N.D.I.A while the other team has no name on their jersey. This is a match being played after the campaign curtains closed yesterday, shouldn’t they be penalised?”

As of now, silent period is going in the state ahead of the polling and no election campaign is allowed, as per the model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections. This indirect gesture by Revanth Reddy has led to a controversy in the election season.
