Parade Ground Gears Up To Hold Telangana Formation Day Celebrations

Secunderabad:Parade ground, Secunderabad is gearing up to host the celebration of Telangana formation day on coming Sunday i,e June 2,2024. Following the formation of Telangana and their subsequent rise to power Congress is celebrating the formation day for the very first time while in power. Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi made a visit to the venue to oversee the preparation works on Wednesday.

Considering it as a matter of pride, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy organized a grand celebration. Making his intentions clear he already invited Congress party chairperson Sonia Gandhi as the chief guest for the celebrations. Particularly, Sonia Gandhi was invited to strike a chord with people of Telangana reiterating that she was the one who gave a nod for the formation of Telangana.

Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, Amberpet Congress in-charge Dr Rohini Reddy, Deputy Mayor Srilatha Mote and Lingojiguda corporator Rajasekhar inspected the arrangements for the formation day of Telangana state on Wednesday.

Gadwal Vijayalakshmi who visited the parade grounds to oversee the preparation work, had made several suggestions to the authorities. He instructed the officials of all the departments to work in coordination to ensure smooth functioning of the programme without any shortcomings. Further she enquired about the details regarding stage arrangements, barricading, electricity, drinking water supply, mic system,and LED screens.

On Tuesday, Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy met Sonia Gandhi at her residence in Delhi and invited her to attend the day celebrations as a chief guest. Speaking to the media at Delhi, Revanth Reddy said “Former AICC president Sonia Gandhi has agreed, in principle, to take part in the Telangana Formation Day celebrations on June 2”.

Meanwhile Telangana state chief secretary Santhi Kumari instructed all the state departments to celebrate Telangana Formation Day, 2024 by unfurling the National flag at district headquarters. Further instructions read, “All important dignitaries like MLAs / Mayors / ZP Chairpersons, Chairperson DCCB and DCMS, Municipal Chairpersons and Heads of Offices are requested to unfurl the National Flag in their respective Offices”.

Similarly, all heads of department and Collectors and District magistrates in the State are requested to take necessary action. They are further requested to follow the instructions issued on Flag Code-2002 and avoid usage of Plastic Flags.
