food safety violations in sarath city mall

KONDAPUR: The Task Force team of the Commissioner of Food Safety in Telangana conducted inspections at Sarath City Mall on April 30, 2024, and identified several violations in multiple restaurants within the mall.

The team, which initially visited Firefly restaurant, seized water bottles worth Rs. 9,000 for not possessing a valid BIS License from the manufacturer and found hygiene and pest-related violations.

At Air Live Lounge, the team seized water bottles worth Rs. 68,400 on suspicion of being substandard (with a very low TDS of 12, as per preliminary testing with a portable TDS meter). FSSAI rules mandate a minimum TDS of 75 mg/L for packaged drinking water. Action will be taken based on lab reports.

Lapses in record-keeping of reused oil were found at Taco Bell, with concerns that the reused oil may exceed acceptable levels of TPC during high demand periods, such as weekends. A show cause notice will be issued.

Additionally, food storage violations were identified, and a notice was issued to Boiler Room Club. The Commissioner of Food Safety in Telangana conducted these inspections in response to complaints of multiple incidents of food adulteration and unhygienic conditions in many eateries within the city.

Identifying violations and taking appropriate actions will help maintain public health and confidence in the food industry.
