Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) launched a program to reward people with information on illegal transportation of Ganja. Individuals with credible information on such activities can be eligible for a reward of up to Rs. 2 lakhs.

The Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) has assured complete confidentiality to informants. They can report such activities through various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Youtube. A QR code has also been released for easy access. People can also directly message on the number 87126 71111 or send an email to tsnabho-hyd@tspolice.gov.in

This initiative is a step towards curbing the flow of illegal drugs in Telangana. The anonymity provided to informants is expected to encourage more people to come forward with information.

It was learned that Secunderabad Railway Police busted an interstate ganja Smuggling racket and arrested a drug peddler on July 2 Tuesday. The police have reportedly seized 20 kgs of Ganja worth five lakhs from his possession.

Telangana Ganja Transportation Reward

The drug peddler identified as Md. Farid is transporting Dry Ganja from Balugaon of Odisha State to Mumbai via Secunderabad to hand over to one Panda at Mumbai for selling the same to needy people on higher price.

On June 30 as per the directions of main peddler Sahu who belongs to Balugaon, the accused Md. Farid took 20 kgs of Dry Ganja in a Trolley Suitcase and backpack bag from Sahu and was smuggling it to Mumbai to hand over to Panda. On Tuesday while the GRP staff conducting checking in Konark Express, at PF No.01 of Secunderabad Railway Station, meantime the Police apprehended the accused in Konark Express.

Secunderabad police have organized surprise checking against the Drugs peddlers on platforms and trains at Secunderabad Railway Station, and apprehended one male accused who was transporting Dry Ganja from Balugaon of Odisha State to Mumbai via Secunderabad by Konark Express. The police have booked a case under NDPS act and further investigation is underway.

B. Saieashwar Goud, IRP/SHO and D.Ramesh SIRP along with K.Venugopal RHC 267, B. Harilal RPC 621, V.Kumar RPC 494, V.Ramu RPC 561, K.Bhavani Shankar RPC 489 and K.Chandra Shekar RPC 35 of RPS Secunderabad were apprehended the accused under the supervision of Smt. Chandana Deepti IPS, Superintendent of Police and S.N. Jawed, DSRP SC(U). ADGP Railway and Road Safety Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS appreciated the officers and men of GRP Secunderabad and they will be rewarded suitably.

Earlier, GRP Secunderabad District destroyed about 1,575 Kgs of Ganja seized in 52 Cases worth rupees 4 Crores at Romo Industries, Turkapur Village, Bhongir.
