South Glass factory blast Shadnagar

Hyderabad: A compressor gas blast furnace at the South Glass factory located on the outskirts of Burgula village in Shadnagar, Rangareddy district, erupted on Friday, June 28, leaving at least five workers dead and 15 others severely injured.

The deceased have been identified as Chittaranjan (25), Ramprakash (45), Rao Kant (25), Roshan (36), and Niket (22) from Bihar, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene to assist the injured, currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.

Police responded to the incident upon receiving information and are on-site investigating the cause of the explosion. Further details regarding the incident are awaited.

Following the Shadnagar blast accident, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy swiftly alerted authorities to respond.

The Chief Minister ordered the injured to be immediately shifted to hospitals for medical treatment. Instructions were given to the collector at the accident site.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also directed revenue, police, fire, labor, industries, and medical teams to remain at the scene and intensify relief efforts in coordination.

KTR, the working president of BRS, expressed his shock on Twitter regarding the tragic accident at South Glass Pvt Limited in Shadnagar, where 6 workers lost their lives. He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a swift recovery to the injured.

KTR also appealed to the Telangana Government to promptly conduct a comprehensive safety audit and review disaster management plans across all industrial areas to prevent such incidents in the future.
