Rythu Bazaar waste plagues Mehdipatnam bus bay

Rythu Bazaar Waste Plagues Mehdipatnam Bus Bay

HYDERABAD: The residents of Mehidipatnam are currently facing difficulties due to the actions of vendors at the Rythu Bazaar. The vendors have been observed dumping their waste, including spoiled vegetables and various forms of garbage, at a bus bay, which is one of the largest bus stops connecting buses to all parts of Hyderabad City.

As a result, the area now has foul odours, and the roads are covered with mud and sand, causing inconvenience for the residents.

While talking to Hyderabad Mail, a resident with the condition of anonymity voiced their concerns about the deteriorating condition of a major bus stop in Hyderabad. The resident said, “This is one of the largest bus bays in the city, serving as a vital hub for buses travelling to all corners of Hyderabad. The current situation, with the nearby Rythu Bazar vendors dumping waste and the area filled with garbage, is untenable. Some roads have even been dug up, leaving mud and sand. This not only inconveniences passengers but also poses serious challenges for bus drivers and conductors.”

The resident recalled that even the concerned department’s higher officer came onto ‘X’ or Twitter to report all these so many times, but the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) authorities did not take action.

After receiving several complaints, GHMC officers visited the location and inspected it. They ensured that the waste was cleaned but left the construction materials on the spot. The resident hopes that higher officials of GHMC will inspect the area to ensure it is kept clean, making passengers and citizens of Mehdipatnam feel secure and safe while boarding buses.

TG Citizen took to ‘X’ and posted, “#happeninghyderabad. It’s not new; it’s an everyday scene. Mehdipatnam Neither surrounding people want cleanliness nor do officials educate. Busiest bus stop in Hyderabad. See how it is maintained. @GHMCOnline @DRonaldRose #hyderabadrains. These will block drains if not cleared.”
