TARNAKA: Accusing the Telangana Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has alleged that the Osmania University circular shared by Revanth Reddy is a ‘fake circular’. Earlier, on Tuesday morning, Revanth Reddy shared a purported circular stating it to be from Osmania University chief warden, which mentioned ‘acute shortage of electricity and water supply’ in 2023 and declaring holidays for the summer season. In 2023, BRS was the ruling party in Telangana.

Countering the same, sharing another circular stating it to be original, BRS party said that the original circular did not mention any ‘shortage of electricity and water’ in the 2023 circular. Further criticised Revanth for sharing a ‘fake circular’ despite being in the position of Chief Minister.

In its tweet in Telugu, BRS said, “…Depsite being in the position of Chief Minister, you have shared a fake circular like a social media troll. Do you have any shame or self-respect to do this kind of act? You are a useless person, who is unable to give at least water and electricity to the students. Go and tell your fake stories to the protesting students for water and electricity at Osmania University, they will make you run. Your promises are fake, your governance is fake, your words are fake, at last, even your social media posts are fake. Its not even six months since you came to power, now only you have come to the position of sharing fake circulars on social media. It shows how insecure you are. . . “

What was the protest about?

Osmania students have sat in for a protest demanding adequate supply of water to their hostels in the University campus. The protesting students, most of them female, said that the water supply was being limited only from 7am to 10am, which is causing them a lot of problems including unhygienic spaces.
