Earlier on Tuesday morning, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy shared a circular stating that Osmania University Chief Warden declared holidays in 2023 and stated reasons for acute shortage of electricity and water supply. However, sharing this circular, BRS party and some of its leaders including Krishank said that it is a fake circular and in turn produced another purported letter, claiming it to be ‘original’ and accused the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of spreading ‘fake news’.

Controversy erupted in Osmania University after students sat in for a protest demanding for adequate supply of water in the hostels. Soon, the OU chief warden declared holidays and mentioned that there is a shortage of electricity and water facilities in the campus and asked for cooperation from students. However, the issue turned political when BRS supremo KCR took the issue to twitter accusing the Congress government for lack of electricity.
