Osmania University Vc, Prof Ravinder Set To Retire

Tarnaka: Hyderabad’s Osmania University, Vice Chancellor, Professor D Ravinder set to retire, as he completes his duration of three years in the position. The Professor is known for his 21 point formula that highlighted the development of university. Meanwhile, the Telangana government has issued orders appointing ten IAS officers as in-charge Vice-Chancellors for ten state-run universities across.

While for Osmania University, it is Dana Kishore, who is going to be in place of Prof Ravinder, similar other IAS officers are going to fill in at other universities. The list of other in-charge VCs include, Burra Venkatesham for Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Karuna Vakati for Kakatiya University, Rizvi Ahmed for Ambedkar Open University, Sandeep Sultania for Telangana University, Sailaja Ramayer for Telugu University, Naveen Mittal for Mahatma Gandhi University, Surendra Mohan for Satavahana University, Jayesh Ranjan for Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts, Nadeem Ahmed for Palamuru University.

Students recall VC Ravinder’s accomplishments

Students say that the contributions of the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor D Ravinder were immense in the development of the University. While his 21 point formula is hailed by several quarters from students to the staff, his other accomplishments in setting up of infrastructural facilities is also being hailed by the students

An alumni of Osmania University said Prof D Ravinder was the one who first initiated the celebration of Osmania University Foundation day, three years ago, as he was appointed as the VC then.

It was also said that VC has also taken initiative in setting up a Running track, renovation of Arts College complex, construction of a boys hostel building, tennis court set up, separate swimming pool for ladies among other facilities.

Meanwhile on the other hand, the VC was also in the centre of controversies for allegedly neglecting some other issues pertaining to the students
