Osmania University’s 2K Walkathon Marks Foundation Day Celebrations

HYDERABAD: Prof. Dandeboina Ravinder, Vice-ChancellorOsmania University, flagged off the 2K Walkathon event at the University College of Engineering at 7 AM on the occasion of Osmania University Foundation Day celebrations. For the past three years, Osmania University has been celebrating Osmania University Foundation Day on Apr 26.

Foundation Day Celebrations:

Before this year, Walkathon used to start at Arts College. But this year event started at Engineering college and ended at Centenary Pylon. Which is built this year on the occasion of Osmania University celebrating it’s 100 years of glory.

Vice-Chancellor Ravinder, Registrar Laxminarayana, Reddya Naik, Arts College principal Prof. K Arjun Rao, affiliated college’s principals, and teaching and non-teaching staff participated in the event. Students from Osmania University and from its affiliated colleges also joined in the Walkathon.

Around thousand people participated in the event and the event successful. NCCNSS students from different colleges participated in the event. 2K Walkathon ended at Centenary Pylon, which is opposite to Arts College.

After successful walk, Prof. Ravinder and Registrar Laxminarayana spoke about the Itinerary of coming three days (including Apr 24) and the glory of Osmania University.

Prof. D. Ravinder:

Ravinder spoke about his brainchild TAKSH, regarding how it started and how it is going on. He said that Osmania is not only for dharnas and rallies. There is lot happening in Osmania University. And I want all of you to visit each and every college under Osmania University and see the achievements of every department on open day, which is going to happen on Thursday.

There are around 3.5 lakh students pursuing their studied under Osmania University, which is second largest in our country. Ravinder said about recent inclusion of International Academic Advisory Committee, which helps students to know all about their higher studies.

Ravinder also talked about his 21 points agenda to “Reform, Perform, and Transform” Osmania University. He urged all the participants to spread out the information regarding Foundation Day celebrations at Osmania University, and encourage each and everyone to attend the same.

Ravinder thanked all the members present at Centenary Pylon for making the event successful.

Prof. Laxminarayana, RegistrarOsmania University spoke about the glory of Osmania University and it’s achievements in the recent years. He saidall the colleges will be open to all and anyone can visit any department on open day. Which followed by Foundation Day celebrations and Taksh Cultural programs on Friday at Tagore Auditorium, Osmania University. 

Laxminarayana said, there will be best of best cultural programs on Friday afternoon, which preceded with lecture by VK Saraswat, who is the member NITI Aayog.
