Cyberabad police launches Operation Muskaan-X to rescue trafficked children

HYDERABAD: Cyberabad Police launched “Operation Muskaan-X” today at Cyberabad CP office . Operation mainly focuses on rescuing children involved in begging, rag-picking, child labor, and bonded labor across Cyberabad. The initiative, scheduled from July 1st to July 31st, aims to rehabilitate homeless children through dedicated teams comprising police personnel and stakeholders.

In a convergence meeting at Cyberabad CP office, led by DCP K. Srujana, strategies for Operation Muskaan-X were outlined. This operation is executed by 11 Special teams, each supervised by a Sub Inspector and including a Woman Police Constable, were formed to identify and rescue children trapped in trafficking and forced labor.

Utilizing the DARPHAN facial recognition software, the police intend to locate missing children and reunite them with their families. Stakeholder departments pledged full cooperation to support the operation. “We have identified clusters and hotspots where children are often subjected to forced labor,” speaking of Operation Muskaan-X, stated Inspector B. James Babu of the AHTU, Cyberabad.

Commitment to child welfare and rehabilitation

Operation Muskaan-X, an extension of the Ministry of Home Affairs’ initiative, emphasizes not only rescue but also the rehabilitation of rescued children. The initiative underscores the importance of education and skill development to empower children for self-reliance and integration into society.

The convergence meeting included representatives from various departments such as Child Welfare Committees, Medical Officers, and Labour Officers, demonstrating a coordinated effort to achieve the program’s objectives.

The month-long operation aims to reunite rescued children with their families or place them in appropriate care facilities, ensuring their well-being and future prospects are safeguarded.

DCP K. Srujana emphasized continuous monitoring and collaboration among stakeholders to ensure the success of Operation Muskaan-X. The police, alongside community organizations like Bachpan Bachao Andolan, are committed to combating child trafficking and exploitation effectively.
