'notice Already Issued' Ghmc On Wall Collapse That Killed 2 Children

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) said that they have already issued a notice to the owner of the house but they failed to comply and now the GHMC has demolished the structure that was responsible for the death of two children.

It should be noted that with the heavy rains on Sunday night, two children lost their life after a tragic wall collapse in Babul Reddy Nagar in Mailardevpally division that comes under the Rajendra Nagar circle of Rangareddy district.

Reacting to this incident, GHMC on X said, “Due to seepage of rainwater between the adjoining house and un plastered wall collapsed. This office has already issued notice to the owner, who failed to comply the instructions, regarding the compound wall and neighbouring house demolished.”

It is pertinent to note that it is the job of the GHMC to issue notices to the occupants when they identify that a structure is dilapidated. Further upon receiving the notice, the occupants should either vacate the premises or should get the repairs done and then get it certified for the structural ability. If the building is vacated then the GHMC would plan for its demolition.

In the recent case also, the GHMC has demolished the structure and also added photographs of the demolition on its X post.

A case has been registered

The two children who lost their lives were identified as 8 year old Nurjan Noor Jahaan, 3 year old Asif Parveen, children of migrant workers from Bihar. Earlier Hyderabad Mail reported that four children were playing in the area when a wall collapsed that resulted in the death of two children and injuring the two others, who are now availing treatment at the Osmania General Hospital. A police case has also been registered in this regard and further investigation is going on.
